A new title

At work this week I got a new title and with it a new set of responsibilities and a new direction.  To be honest I still do not know what all of this means in the long term, but in the short term there are a few major changes.

1.  I will not be traveling all over the world like I have been the last year.  For the most part I will be based at our International Headquarters here in Boone.  This is  a good change as far as my family is concerned but at the same time it makes me a little sad.  During the last year I was blessed to get to travel more in one year than I have traveled in my entire life.  A selfish part of  me hates to give this up but it is probably for the best, especially when you read in the news about bombings in Moscow and other major hub airports in the news.  Surely I am safer here in Boone that in most other parts of the world.

2. I have a shiny new title.  I am the “Security Administrator”.  It is a new career direction for so there will be a steep learning curve, but learning is what keeps life interesting at least in my opinion.  So far in my work career this is by far the fanciest title I have been awarded, but really I don’t get all pent up in titles and grandeur, I just want to do work that I enjoy and can be proud of.

3.  I am not exactly sure that all this job will entail, but I feel like I am ready for a challenge.

BTW -> Here is my new cubeplate.
